I think this is so special. Ray and Becca share such a special relationship. Even though he is not her biological father, she really views him as her "Daddy". Before I met Ray, I used to pray for a St. Joseph to come into our life. I never really thought about what that meant in regards to becoming a parent to a child that "isn't yours". I imagine St. Joseph had fears about being Jesus's "father" too. Friday, February 11, 2011
My Saint Joseph
Tonight Ray is in bed early tonight because he is getting up early to drive to see Becca for the day. He decided to do this for two reasons: 1) It's about 1/2 way between when Bec started and spring break and she needs a break and 2) Monday is Valentine's Day and he wants to be there for her as her Valentine while he can. They are going to spend the day in Pittsburgh and go to some really neat churches and shrines.

I have been so blessed to watch Ray and Becca grow such a strong bond with each other. I really love that Ray looks at Becca as his own daughter. His love gives her freedom so that she does not get caught up in needing a boy to fill her wounds or any void. They both have worked very hard on cultivating their relationship and this hard work will reap fruit for generations to come. The importance of this can never be underestimated, and both of us recognize this.
